Chemistry by C.L. Lynch

Why you should read it: A straight up indie hit!

When I first saw the cover, I pretty much discounted the book as any sort of good read because I LOVE Twilight. But then I thought hey, I’m going to read the description and find out what this nonsense is all about and boy was I absolutely delighted!

The book is a charmingly hilarious rendition of a “zompocalypse” and Ms. Lynch has done wonderful things with a very large and in charge Stella Blunt who is both stellar and very blunt. And then there’s the Mullins’ family who are such awesome characters unto themselves with their spectacularly weird personalities. Let’s also not forget Stella’s parents who are probably the coolest parents in the universe.

Throughout the book I kept trying to find correlations between Chemistry and Twilight and I’m so happy that Chemistry can stand on its own and be an original story. I think the best part of the book is that nobody acts….normal? Or how we think people should act, especially Stella’s parents who are just so quirky and rolled with the punches…er….cleavers?

If you’re looking for a fun read that is imaginative, sassy and bright, give this a shot. You won’t be disappointed!
